WILL "A THE CERTAIN PERSON" -- JAMES GREEN -- DO THE RIGHT THING?

Shreveport councilwoman Ursula Bowman stated at the last meeting to the council that she was " going to do the right thing." She then voted with four other council members to have an investigation of the recent pay raises unilaterally bestowed by council chairman James Green.

A June traffic stop of Green has just come to light and the video has been viewed my many Shreveporters both on the KEEL Radio website and the KTBS website. Green had mentioned at the council meeting that a recent traffic stop was racially motivated.

Green's black Mercedes Benz SUV was stopped in June of this year due to tinted windows that were too dark. The video confirmed the officer's judgment in making the stop--the windows appeared to be as black as the car itself. It’s highly unlikely that the officer could ID the race of the driver of the vehicle that passed him before the stop was effectuated.

In the video Green said several times that he was "A Certain Person." Presumably he was referring to the fact that they had a Shreveport Marshal commission and an LSP badge. He presented them both -- seemingly as justification for the tint on his car windows.

Green may have also been referring to himself as "A Certain Person" because he is a council member, and the chair of the council.

He did not mention in the video that he was a minister, although that could be part of his " A Certain Person" mentality.

Green's " A Certain Person” assertion gave him what he wanted--the escape from a traffic citation.

Evidently, he believes that "certain people" deserve special privileges. This had worked previously when he was charged with a battery for pushing his way into a retail establishment. This incident resulted in a court diversion which eliminated any criminal liability.

Sooo...will "A Certain Person" Green do the right thing and have the tint on his car windows corrected?

The next council meeting is Sept. 11, which gives his apply time to take remedial action. Green can be sure that the media will be checking his SUV when he comes and goes to the council work session and regular meetings.

Any efforts to see if "A Certain Person" has corrected the car window tint will most likely result in charges of racism, but what else is new with Green? Shreveport councilwoman Ursula Bowman stated at the last meeting to the council that "she was going to
