There have been two meetings of Mayor Arceneaux's Capital Improvements Committee. This is the group working on a bond proposal package for the City of Shreveport.
Each council member was asked to appoint two people from their district to the committee. The mayor has appointed five members.
Council chair James Green has NOT appointed anyone to the committee--as of 5:30 p.m. yesterday (Mon.) The other council members made timely appointments so that their districts could be represented at the first two meetings.
Simply put, Green's inaction on the appointments is totally inexcusable.
Does this mean Green thinks council District F does not need representation on this important
committee?
Does this mean Green does not value citizen input and he will speak for his district when the council is presented a bond package for approval?
Does this mean Green intends to oppose any bond package?
It's a disgrace to District F that Green has not made citizen appointments to this committee.
Add this failure to the list of reasons Green should be replaced as council chair by a majority vote of the Council.
