REPRESENTATIVE JACKSON CAN EXPLAIN ETHICS VIOLATIONS AT DDA EVENT TOMORROW

Representative Steven Jackson will speak at the DDA Extend Your Day drop in tomorrow (Tues.) at the Petroleum Club. The event, from 4:30 to 7 pm, is open to the public.

Jackson has asked the Louisiana Board of Ethics to dismiss more than $10,700 in fines for failing to properly submit public disclosure and campaign finance forms over the past two years.

Jackson has a decade-long history of not filing his election and government transparency paperwork on time and appropriately.

Jackson has been fined 22 times since 2015 when he first ran for the Caddo Commission.

Jackson also has a well-documented history of playing fast and loose with Louisiana laws. He was arrested in Bossier Parish for impersonating a law enforcement officer. He has had charges filed against him for stalking.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has paid ethics fines. Why Jackson thinks he should not do the same is an open question. Maybe he will explain this tomorrow at the DDA event.

Jackson certainly cannot use ignorance as an excuse. He has a degree from Grambling University in Hotel Management and a master’s degree from LSUS.
