John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

NAMES POP UP TO REPLACE GREEN ON CITY COUNCIL IN 2026 ELECTION

Write about having no names for an upcoming vacant city council seat and phone texts roll in.
 
Billy Anderson is expected to run for the District F council seat. He will likely be endorsed by Rev. Theron Jackson of Morningstar Baptist Church and possibly by James Green, the current councilman.
 
Community activist Lester Smith has stated he will run for the District F council seat. Currently Smith is the first Vice President of the local NAACP chapter. He is expected to have several endorsements from district residents.
 
Open council seats generally draw many candidates. It’s a long time until the end of July qualifying , so one can expect more names to be banted about for this seat.
