FENCING OF 50’S EMPTY PARKING LOT MAY LESSEN BOISTEROUS CROWDS, OPEN DRINKING AND BRAWLS

The downtown lot owned by Curtis “50 Cents” Jackson on Travis bounded by Spring and Commerce has been the location of unruly crowds, open drinking, and violence.

Jackson has pulled a permit to install a temporary fence around his lot which is/has been a parking lot. The permit is for $32,000 and Robert Bass Construction Company of Waskom is the contractor.

What 50 Cents" final plans for this location are unknown. Mayor Arceneaux has stated that there are no firm plans for a Humor and Harmony Festival next year. Additionally, it is not known what plans, if any, Jackson has made for renovation of the numerous buildings and the dirt lot he has purchased in the downtown area.
