CADDO COMMISSION TAKES POSITIVE STEPS FOR POSSIBLE DATA CENTER

The Caddo Commission voted yesterday to approve a PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) incentive for any data center that is constructed in the parish OUTSIDE the Shreveport City limits.

There is ample “rural” acreage in the parish to accommodate such a facility. Additionally, Caddo Parish has an industrial park in the northern part of the parish.

A PILOT is one of tools in the economic development toolbox used to attract large business construction projects. The Commission placed additional requirements for the issuance of such an incentive.

Any PILOT agreement is subject to final approval by the Commission.

This vote by the Commission sends a positive message to the business community, and especially to potential data center companies.
