Unity in Community: Honoring Leadership, Service, and the Power of Giving Back

At the heart of the Louisiana Rouxgaroux is a commitment to faith, family, football… and community. Today, we proudly highlight a true pillar of Shreveport—Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ)—a man whose dedication, service, and leadership continue to inspire everything this movement stands for.

Lyndon B. Johnson devoted thirteen years as Caddo Parish Commissioner for District 2, serving twice as Commission President. His impact extends far beyond parish lines—shaping statewide and national organizations through his roles with the Black Caucus Louisiana Police Jury Association, the National Association of Counties, and the National Association of Black County Officials.

With 34 years in the oil and gas industry, LBJ brought expertise in operations, safety, regulatory compliance, and community relations. His leadership has touched the arts, culture, and youth through events like the Let the Good Times Roll Festival and through service in retail, education, and ministry.

A proud lifelong Shreveport resident, LBJ’s journey began in Caddo Parish schools, continued at Grambling State University and Southern University–Shreveport, and led to a degree from Louisiana Tech University. He continues to serve through Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Rho Omega & Friends, Inc., and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. And above all, he is a proud father to Kelyn, Brittany, and Lyndon II.

This is the spirit of community leadership we stand with—and strive to reflect—through the Louisiana Rouxgaroux Unity in Community program.

Our players are stepping into schools, youth groups, community centers, and nonprofit spaces to uplift and inspire, just as LBJ has done for decades.

Assemblies & Youth Programs:
Players motivate, teach leadership, encourage resilience, read to students, and engage with interactive drills and Q&A.

Pep Rallies:
Bringing the hype, celebrating student athletes, creating run-out tunnels, performing fun challenges, and spreading school pride.

Nonprofit Board Meetings & Community Events:
Players speak, network, support missions, help build partnerships, and represent the wolf pack with purpose.

The Rouxgaroux aren’t just here to play football.
We’re here to stand with our community—serve, inspire, and make an impact.

This is Unity in Community.
This is Louisiana Rouxgaroux.
And this is only the beginning.
