SHREVEPORT COUNCILMAN TALIAFERRO JOINS IN PUSHSBACK ON BLOCK BY BLOCK CRITICISM

Yesterday's press release did not include comments by councilman Jim Taliaferro who has calendar issues at the time the release was prepared.

Here is Taliaferro's comments just released to SETTLETALK:

"While I missed the opportunity to comment, I applaud the Mayor for taking the reins on this endeavor, but I do agree with my fellow council members regarding the opportunity to have a voice in the selection of members who make up this committee, who should represent  a cross section of those we present."

"Many of our most successful committees have been comprised of council selected citizens and I feel this was a missed opportunity to continue the trend."

Now, all seven council members have publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the Block by Block initiative for stated reasons. As a former council member, Mayor Arceneaux should understand the frustrations expressed by these elected officials. How he responds publicly will be interesting.

IS IT TIME FOR SHREVEPORT  TO CONSIDER A SECONDARY WATER SOURCE?
