The six major NW LA sales taxing jurisdictions reflect an increase in May over last year. Four of them are up for their fiscal years-to-date.
The City of Shreveport levies a 2.75% sales and use tax. Its May tally of $13,977,648 is 7% above 2024's $13,063,733. Its 5-month fiscal sum of $69,126,200 is 2.7% higher than the $67,338,895 a
year ago.
The Caddo Parish School Board operates on a July 1-June 30 fiscal year like all LA school boards and has a sales tax rate of 1.5%. May reflects a robust 9.5% hike above 2024 with receipts of $9,311,793 vs $8,506,623 in 2024. Its fiscal YTD total of $99,578,870, is 1.5% above the like period a year back when $98,076,948 was received.
The Law Enforcement District of Caddo, the Sheriff, levies a 0.35% sales tax rate and uses a calendar fiscal year. $2,173,121 is May's figure, a nice 9.6% jump over 2024's $1,962,510. Its 5-month YTD sum, $10,650,117, is 3.2% greater than its $10,323,873 from 2024.
The Bossier Parish School Board garnered $5,574,749 this May.
It represents a 7.2% increase from 2024's $5,198,826. Its 11-month YTD total is $66,312,826, 1.5% below 2024's figure of $67,341,529.
Bossier City-Parish generated $5,419,888 in May, 4.8% higher than 2024's $5,167,961. Its 5-month YTD collections, $27,860,459, are a 3.0% rise from its 2024 revenues of $27,043,913.
The Bossier Parish Police Jury's May figure of $1,090,149 is a very strong 16.1% bump from $938,886 in 2024. However, its 5-month figure, $5,226,707, is a 5.0% decrease from its $5,499,249 in 2024.
