BOSSIER'S CLASS "A" WATER RATING NOT MATCHED BY GRADE "F" ON WATER METERS

Bossier Mayor Tommy Chandler loves to brag about Bossier's water rating of "A". He especially enjoys jabs at Shreveport when on the Mike and McCarty KEEL radio show.

However, Chandler and his administration had been hiding a major issue concerning Bossier's water. At the Bossier council meeting yesterday, Bossier CAO revealed that 2600  (approximately) water meters in Bossier City are not reflecting water usage.

So rather than have accurate readings Bossier City has been estimating water bills.

Replacing these non-functioning meters will cost the city approximately $3 million.

One only wonders how long Bossier City has been estimating water usage. Evidently this was a known fact to Chandler and his administration. Why this information had not been previously disclosed to the Bossier Council is a big question.

An even bigger question is what other critical information has the Chandler administration been hiding. One can surmise that Council president Chris Smith will be keeping close tabs on Chandler, giving him no slack on poor management of Bossier City. It will be much needed, and very welcome, change at Bossier City Hall.
