WILL DEFAMATION SUIT FILED AGAINST CADDO COMMISSIONER KRACMAN RESULT IN A DEFAMATION SUIT

It’s been well publicized that Jimmy Silvio and others recently filed a defamation lawsuit against Caddo Commissioner Chris Kracman. The pleadings attribute many strong defamatory remarks allegedly made by Kracman against the plaintiffs and the Hosston truck stop they own.

How this litigation unravels is unknown at this time. Commissioner Kracman has denied the remarks attributed to him and/or stated that they were taken out of context. Caddo Parish attorney Donna Frazier has opined the complaints remarks complained of by Silvio et. al  were not made by Kracman in his capacity as a commissioner and thus the Parish will not hire counsel to represent him.

If this litigation is resolved in favor of Kracman, Silvio and the other plaintiffs may be subject to a defamation action filed by Kracman. In this event, Silvio and the others would certainly be swimming upstream if a court determined their allegations were false. And it would certainly be a much easier suit for Kracman to win.

Hmmm.

What's that old saying about people living in glass houses?
