HOW MUCH MONEY WILL CADDO PARISH SPEND ON ATTORNEYS RESPONDING TO AG INVESTIGATION

The simple answer is "who knows?"

It has been well publicized that the Lousiana Attorney General's office is investigating the presentation of a proclamation given to Bernie Sanders before a vote was taken on this matter.

The investigation prompted the Parish to hire The Harper Law Firm to represent the seven Democrat commissioners who signed the resolution. The Parish also hired Cook, Yancey, King & Galloway to represent the five Republican commissioners who did not sign the resolution and later voted against it.

The Harper Firm fee agreement calls for $350 per hour for the Senior Attorney and $275 per hour for the Senior Associate Attorney. As of today this firm has NOT billed the Parish.

Cook Yancey's fee agreement sets forth fees at  $350 per hour for attorneys with 10 years of experience. An invoice has been sent to the Parish for $980 for the services rendered by John Nickelson.

Depending on the actions of the AG's office in this investigation the Parish could incur substantial legal fees for both law firms.
