CITY OF SHREVEPORT HAS STARTED WORK ON MILLENNIUM STUDIOS DRAINAGE

In September of last year, major flooding occurred at Millennium Studios aka G-Unit Film & Television Studios. The flooding, after a torrential rainfall, rendered the buildings inoperable for the utilization by G-Unit.

Construction has started on corrective measures to hopefully resolve the flooding problem. Crews are on site today installing two drains and pipelines on the property. A total of work drains is to be constructed, according to the workman on location.

The City of Shreveport is paying for remediation measures. The $50 million LED grant to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson mandates that forty (40%) of any matching funds paid by LED be expended at the studios.  Needless to say, resolution of studio flooding is critical to Jackson’s plans.

Substantial rainfall often occurs in the spring months. No doubt Jackson will wait until he is confident that the remediation measures resolve flooding before making substantial expenditures in the studios.
