GAGE-WATTS KICKS OFF MAYORAL CAMPAIGN—HERE’S THE POOP

Caddo Commissioner Stormy Gage-Watts is termed out of the Commission this year and cannot seek re-election to the Commission. She now wants to be Shreveport’s next mayor

She previously issued a press release announcing her candidacy. Last night at the downtown Hilton she had an “official announcement” of her candidacy.

Elected officials present at the event included Caddo commissioners Steffon Jones, Victor Thomas, Ron Cothran, and John Paul Young. Shreveport councilwoman Tabatha Taylor was also in attendance along with former Caddo commissioner Lyndon Johnson and former city councilman Willie Bradford.

Caddo businessman Roy Griggs was in the crowd. Griggs was a major supporter of Henry Whitehorn in his successful campaign for Caddo Sheriff.

Stormy’s minister Theron Jackson introduced Stormy.

Many if not most of those in attendance were members of Stormy’s church, Morningstar Baptist Church. Reported there was only one Caucasian in the crowd.

Sharon Braggs, wife of Lynn Braggs, is a key person in Stormy’s campaign.
