John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

CADDO DA STEWART TO ANNOUNCE RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN FRIDAY

This Friday Caddo District Attorney James E. Stewart will officially announce his re-election campaign. The event will be at 1:30 in the Norman J. Blake Community Center, which is next to the Mount Canaan Church on Alston Street.
 
Stewart was elected Caddo DA on Nov. 21, 2015.
 
In October of last year, State Senator Alan Seabaugh announced at Superior Grill that he would challenge Stewart.
 
The last campaign filing by Stewart, dated Feb.l6, 2025, reflected campaign funds on hand of over $115,000. Stewart is a Democrat.
 
Seabaugh’s last campaign filing on Feb.17, 2025 showed funds on hand of less than $800. Seabaugh is a Republican.
 
The general/primary election is Nov. 3 of this year.
