Lynn Braggs is a well-known behind the scenes political operative who has benefited from public contracts with the City of Shreveport.
He, along with his money pocket buddy Roy Griggs and former mayor Adrian Perkins, want to elect Shreveport’s next mayor. They have joined together in support of non-Shreveport resident Caddo Commissioner Stormy Gage-Watts in her bid for mayor.
Many informed sources report that the three musketeer’s first approached Shreveport council woman Tabatha Taylor to run against Mayor Tom Arecenaux.
Taylor has an easy path to reelection to her council District A seat. She will then be set to run for mayor in 2030, and she was not interested in a mayor’s race this year.
Stormy will certainly be a puppet for the musketeers. Griggs has become an active political donor since the sale of his hamburger empire. Braggs is the muscle man/bag man in the group and Perkins is attempting to sell political influence. i.
Griggs and Braggs can raise funds for Gage-Watts. However, they cannot add substance to a politically shallow candidate who is not much more than styles, smiles and meaningless platitudes. How far her primary attributes of being a black female Democrat will take her in the mayor’s election will depend, in large part, on other Democrats entering the mayoral race.
