John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

MORE INFORMATION ON BOSSIER AMAZON DATA CENTER

Yesterday’s Bossier Police Jury public hearing on the final plat for the Amazon data center provided additional information on this $6 billion project.
 
Here is a summary:
 
1. The center will be on a 1.3 million square foot campus
 
2. Domestic wastewater—sinks, toilets, etc—will be handled by the Town of Benton
 
3. Wastewater from the site’s evaporative cooling system will be treated on-site and will be discharged into the Red River or Town of Benton’s facility
 
4. Bossier City will provide up to 13.5 million gallons of water per day and the data center will pay the construction costs for pipes to transmit the water from Bossier City
 
5. Electricity rates will not rise due to data center power needs
 
6. The data center will pay for any new electricity transmission infrastructure that is needed
 
7. The data center will comply with the Bossier Parish noise regulations
 
8. 500 construction jobs are anticipated
 
9. There will be 270 permanent jobs paying 150% of the state’s annual pay average
 
The police jury unanimously approved the final plat for the data center campus.
