DID CADDO ADMINISTRATOR BRYANT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO HIRE LOBBYISTS AND OPPOSE LEGISLATION

Caddo Parish Administrator Erica Bryant recently fired the parish’s lobbyist and then hired Markey Pierre as the Parish’s lobbyist.

Pierre testified recently before the House Transportation and Public Works Committee opposing legislation affecting the Port.

Pierre advised the Committee that the Caddo Commission had passed resolutions opposing the proposed legislation.

Seated next to Pierre at the hearing was a Port Commissioner.

Bryant has served as a Port Commissioner for 20 years.

THE CADDO COMMISSION DID NOT APPROVE THE HIRING OF PIERRE

THE CADDO COMMISSION DID NOT PASS RESOLUTIONS OPPOSING THE LEGISLATION.

A public records request has been made by this reporter to obtain the contract/agreement with Pierre and the Parish along with a statement of the authority of Bryant to hire Pierre.

The deadline for response to the public records request is next Tuesday at noon.

Litigation will most likely be required to get this information since the Parish Administration continuingly fails to respond timely and correctly, IF AT ALL, to public records requests by this reporter.
