The only thing happening at Millennium Studios, now G-Unit Film & Television Studios, is that the grass is growing to a level that needs cutting.
At the Shreveport City Council Infrastructure meeting on Tuesday, G-Unit spokesman Temple Williams said nothing of substance will happen at the studios due to concerns over major flooding that occurred in June 2023 which was BEFORE G-Unit signed a 30-year lease for the property.
Williams’s comments to the Council were very limited, referring several times to “ownership and management.”
The lease is an “As Is” lease, meaning G-Unit accepted the studios in the condition that existed at the time of execution which was after the major flooding. Flooding was reportedly caused by a clogged drainage pipe from the adjacent Grand Bayou apartments.
The City of Shreveport has spent approximately $250,000 for catch basins and trench drains this year.aa
Despite the flooding excuse, no filming has occurred at Shreveport’s Expo Hall.
If nothing else, maybe G-Unit could construct an ark on the studio parking lot.
