WILL SHREVEPORT MAYORAL CANDIDATE COMMISSIONERS VOTE TO FUND BOSSIER ARENA FOOTBALL TEAM

Thursday the Caddo Commission will vote on the Louisiana Rouxgaroux's request to fund $32,500 for the team which plays its games in the Brookshires Grocery Arena and has offices in the Bossier Boardwalk.

Two of the 12 commissioners, Stormy Gage-Watts and John-Paul Young, are declared candidates for the Shreveport mayor’s race this year.

Stormy is a Democrat with a liberal spending voting record on the Commission.

Republican John-Paul describes himself as fiscally conservative.

Stormy voted against sending John-Paul’s resolution to fund $2.8 million for 70 Shreveport police cars to a commission committee yesterday.

The votes by both candidates will be another factor for Shreveport voters to consider when deciding their vote for Shreveport mayor.

Thursday’s meeting will provide both candidates with the opportunity to expound on their vote decision.
