John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

He is a former city councilman.
 
He is a former mayor.
 
He is a former state legislator.
 
He was soundly defeated in his effort to become a state senator.
 
He now has a sweet highly paid gig as executive director of Shreveport’s Downtown Development Authority,
 
He was the mayor when Shreveport entered the infamous EPA consent decree that is virtually bankrupting the city in effort for compliance.
 
As mayor, he did little to resolve the water system’s infrastructure which continues to have major problems and very high repair expenses.
 
He has now done little to improve downtown Shreveport since his hire in September of last year.
 
Many downtown building owners who pay the DDA tax question the role of DDA in 2026.
 
They have many concerns about the limited benefit the additional ad valorem tax provides the downtown area much less the building owners paying the tab.
 
As mayor Glover kicked many cans down the road including the EPA Consent Decree.
 
Glover can sit in his plush executive chair while now mayor Tom Arceneaux must explain the city’s grade of F on its water system.
