The Louisiana Legislature’s 2026 Regular Session ended yesterday, June 1.
Both the City of Shreveport and Caddo Parish have lobbyists on retainer.
The city lobbyist previously gave an interim presentation on the session.
The Caddo Parish lobbyist has not appeared before the Commission.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry can veto legislation. Additionally, he has a line-item veto over the state budget and appropriations legislation.
After the veto period has elapsed both lobbyists should give a detailed written and oral reports on the just adjourned session on all pertinent statewide acts and specifically those that affect the city and the parish.
