MORNINGSTAR  MINISTER ADVISES GAGE-WATTS RENTED FACILITY FOR POLITICAL EVENT

Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church minister Dr. Theron J. Jackson advises that Shreveport mayoral candidate Stormy Gage-Watts rented the Morning Star Life Center this past Sunday for her campaign event after the Sunday worship services, “just as community organizations, businesses, nonprofits, and other groups have rented our facilities on numerous occasions.”

Jackson did not say if other political candidates had ever rented this facility or if church membership was a prerequisite. Presumably the rental rate for Gage-Watts was the same as for other events at this facility.

Perhaps such future political events should have a disclaimer as to church sponsorship.
