Believe it or not there were three good things that can be said about yesterday’s (Thursday) meeting.
In case a reader was not one of the less than 20 spectators at the meeting or less than 15 viewers on the live stream, then you missed out.
So here you go:
1. It was the last Commission meeting this month because many of them will go on another taxpayer funded junket, this time to the annual National Association of Counties (NACO) in the Big Easy July 17 - July 20.
2. Caddo taxpayers will not be paying for free lunches provided at virtually every meeting of the Commission and Commission committees for the rest of the month, but the savings will not offset one day expenses at the NACO conference.
3. Finally, finally, finally the most ever debated Caddo Commission resolution—which will have absolutely NO effect—was voted on. In case one has been losing sleep over it, the Commission passed a resolution condemning the redistricting ordered by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Commissioners who attend the NACO conference will no doubt give glowing reports on the benefits of their attendance at the next Commission meeting.
