SHREVEPORT MPC NEEDS AUTOMOTICA MEETING NOTICE/AGENDA SOFTWARE FEATURE

The Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) is a governmental entity funded by the City of Shreveport, Caddo Commission, and fees charged for its services.

Unlike many local governmental entities such as the Shreveport City Council, the Bossier City Council, the Caddo Commission and the Bossier MPC, the Shreveport MPC software program does not allow citizens to sign up to automatically receive email meeting notices with agendas.

This service is greatly needed, and MPC Executive Director Stephen Jean says his staff is checking whether this feature is available on the software his office uses.

This should be added ASAP if available or the Shreveport MPC should utilize a new software service.

Good government principles dictate that citizens should have easy access to information on public meetings and this automatic email meeting notice with agenda is essential to citizen participation.

Hopefully, the Shreveport MPC can offer this option to citizens very soon.
