John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SIRA RUNS THROUGH $67,000 BUT HAS NOT POSTED FOR SALE SIGNS

SIRA is the Shreveport Implementation and Redevelopment Authority.

SIRA was funded $100 thousand in the 2026 Shreveport City budget.

To date, SIRA has spent over $56,000 and has a payable of $11,000.

SIRA has owned a five-acre tract on Exposition Avenue since 2025.

SIRA purchased the old YWCA building on Pierre Avenue in 2025.

To date SIRA has NOT posted any FOR SALE signs on these properties.

However, they have spent public funds on a consultant, a New Orleans operations manager, and a website designer.

So much for the hype that SIRA would be a conduit to develop all the adjudicated properties owned by the City of Shreveport.
