Running for political office is hard, thankless work and certainly not “fun”.
Tim Euler learned that lesson back in 2023 when he ran unsuccessfully for the Caddo Commission.
He announced that he would run for the Shreveport City Council, District D, on December on Dec. 1 of last year.
Since that time, until qualifying ended last Friday, Euler quietly and effectively campaigned for the District D seat.
Euler started posting campaign signs in March of this year -and as of the time he qualified, he had over signs throughout the district.
He also had successful campaign fundraising events and countless lunches and evening meetings.
Euler was endorsed by many local officials, and he had the support and guidance of councilman Grayson Boucher.
It's extremely rare, if not historic, for a first-time candidate for the Shreveport City Council to run unopposed and Euler did just that.
Euler’s credentials, hard work and dedication no doubt discouraged those who were tire-kicking earlier this year about running to replace Grayson Boucher on the council.
Now that he will not be campaigning until the Nov. 3 election, Tim will have time to become more educated on council issues and actively monitor the budgeting process for the 2027 city budget which will be invaluable when he takes office in December.
John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.
He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.
John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.
