All but one of the 6 major NW LA sales taxing jurisdictions showed a rise for their sales tax receipts for July. The only one to fall compared to July 2025 was Bossier City-Parish.
By far the largest deposit was the City of Shreveport. It has a 2.75% sales and use tax rate using a calendar fiscal year. Its July tally of $14,486,436 was 2.8% above $14,086,580 a year ago. Its year-to-date total in 7 months is 1.5% up from the amount last year $98,531,567 relative to $97,176,926.
The Caddo Parish School Board imposes its 1.5% rate on a school board's July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. In its initial new fiscal year month of July, it's received $10,091,127, an 8.6% increase over the $9,293,380 which it garnered a year back.
The Law Enforcement District of Caddo, the Sheriff, levies a 0.35% rate based upon a calendar fiscal year. It generated a sum of $2,355,045, an 8.8% jump over 2025. Its YTD total of $18,082,946 is 5.0% higher than the $17,218,891 a year ago.
The Bossier Parish School Board took in $6,289,926 for July. This was 3.8% more than 2025 in its initial fiscal year month.
Bossier City-Parish operates on a calendar fiscal year. It had receipts of $5,806,822 for July, a drop of 2.3% relative to the $5,945,404 last year. It is just about flat for YTD collections, depositing $39,382,199 vs. $39,391,584, a 0.02% decrease.
Bossier Parish Police Jury employs a calendar fiscal year. A large uptick for both July and YTD is apparent. Its July total of $1,387,808 dwarfs $1,151,778, a 20.5% spike. Its YTD figure of $8,485,417 is a substantial 25.9% above the 2025 figure of $7,534,658.
