The Sierra Club funded litigation by three individuals against the City of Shreveport challenging the data center project in southwest Shreveport in January of this year.
Caddo Judge Ramon Lafitte ruled in favor of the City in April 26.
The plaintiffs timely filed an appeal to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals on July 23.
The City filed a Motion to Expedite the case on July 29.
The court has ordered that the plaintiffs file a brief in opposition to the motion by August 17 with a responsive brief by the city on September 8.
The hearing date for the Motion to Expedite the case has not been set and the panel to hear the case has not been named.
Legal pundits believe the Second Circuit court will rule by year end in favor of the city, dismissing the plaintiffs' claims and allowing construction of the Shreveport data center to proceed.
Amazon officials have declined to make any comments on the proposed Shreveport data.
