THE SIGN OUTLAWS CONTEST
Political sign season is here.
They’re on corners, along the roads and popping up faster than fire ants after a Louisiana rain.
And some of them aren’t supposed to be there.
SettleTalk and The Inquisitor are asking readers to help us find the worst offenders.
Spot one? Bust ’em.
Snap a picture. Tell us where it is. Send it in.
Email it to John E. Settle Jr. at john@jesettle.com, slide into our DMs on social media or mail it to us if you’re kicking it old school.
That’s it. You’re entered.
There’s $150 in Nicky’s gift cards up for grabs.
The Sign Outlaws Contest is being held in honor of the wife of the owner of Nicky’s, who really, really doesn’t like political signs.
We respect that kind of commitment.
Entries are open now through midnight October 27, 2026.
We’ll pick our favorite. Yes, it’s subjective. No, we’re not forming a blue-ribbon commission to study it.
One important rule: Don’t trespass, stop traffic, move signs or do anything stupid to get the picture. We want photos of Sign Outlaws. We don’t need you becoming one.
See a Sign Outlaw? Turn ’em in.
And if you decide to rain on our parade, we hope you get fire ant bites on the backs of your ankles and between your toes.
Happy hunting.
