It's on the internet, so it must be true?
That’s the question residents living near and around the old Shreveport Country Club are asking.
The Continuum North End website reports that “for generations, the Shreveport Country Club was a landmark for North Shreveport. Portions of the property have deteriorated and the clubhouse is gone, but the land remains one of the region’s premier redevelopment opportunities.”
The website reports: “Continuum North End is currently in planning and pre-development. We are shaping the master plan for the 175-acre site and laying the groundwork for a health-anchored community where home, healthcare, green space and neighborhood businesses grow together.”
“Continuum North End is planned as a master planned community where people can live, work, heal, learn, play and invest within a thoughtfully designed environment.”
Sounds like nirvana, right?
Unfortunate efforts to get more information on this project were unsuccessful due to a lack of response by the only listed contact on the website.
It’s a great read that lacks any significant details.
Shreveport’s declining population, citizen migration to south Shreveport, the increase in crime in north Shreveport and the recent assault/battery and carjacking on Curtis Lane of a prominent Shreveport citizen are just a few of the hurdles this project will face along the way.
Let’s hope it happens.
