On Feb.26, Caddo Commissioner John-Paul Young filed a Declaratory Judgment action to determine the rights of Shreveport Police to arrest squatters in vacant houses. The named defendant is Mayor Tom Arceneaux for the City of Shreveport.All the Caddo judges recused themselves from the case.

CADDO COMMISSION PROPOSAL TO FUND $100,000 FOR FOOTBALL GAME WITH NO DETAILS?

The Caddo Commission agenda for Thursday has a proposal to fund $100,000 for "The Shreveport Bossier Kickoff Classic."  If approved, these funds will be paid from the Oil and Gas Economic Development Fund. The earliest this measure could be adopted is March 20.

HOW SHREVEPORT SPENDS RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT FUND MONIES

By ordinance, the City of Shreveport has established a riverfront special revenue fund as an integral component of the city's economic development strategy. All funds received by the City from riverboat gaming activity is to be deposited into this fund.
