 At its Tuesday, Aug. 27 meeting the Caddo School Board was briefed on six finalists for the Caddo School superintendent selected by a headhunter firm.  The twelve board members then rated each of the six candidates.

Cassie Mae Rogers filed a lawsuit to compel the Bossier City Council to place the term limit charter provisions on the December ballot. A hearing is set in Benton before Judge Parker Self. Mayor Tommy Chandler is a named defendant--any litigation filed against the city must name the mayor.

FOUR JUVENILES KILL A HOMELESS MAN AND NO OUTCRY OR ACTION BY PUBLIC OFFICIALS

Last Friday (Aug.16), a homeless man was chased by four juveniles in the Werner Park neighborhood. The juveniles threw bottles at the man, hitting him and then they murdered him.Yes--four juveniles murdered a homeless man.Think about the homeless man who probably had mental challenges.

SWEPCO has just posted notices on entrances  to the two Regions Bank buildings on Texas Street with a demand for long overdue electricity bills. The notice states that electricity will be cut off on Monday, Aug. 26 , or after.

The Humor & Harmony Festival (HHF) is being hyped by public officials as an overwhelming success. Using practically any criteria for judging the four day festival. it merits that praise. However, like any major event on public property there are valid questions to be answered for the public.

For the last several months the Arceneaux administration and the Shreveport City Council have been focused on the Humor & Harmoney Festival (HHF)and Shreveport's manganese water issues. The festival was a major success. DOWUS is spending serious energy on curing the brown water.

BIG FUSS OVER TIMELY PAY FOR CADDO SCHOOL SECURITY COORDINATORS

Who takes a new job on July 22 and not be paid until Aug. 30?Probably no one.Caddo Schools hired 14 security school coordinators who began work on July 22. These individuals, who are not highly paid, understood they would get their first paycheck on Aug. 15.
