Two SPD Summons, An SPD Arrest And Next Day Radio Guests

By now most readers have probably heard of the incident downtown on Tuesday afternoon involving city council candidates Alvin Oliver and Lester Smith and their confrontation with Constidious Johnson aka MJ.

Oliver and Smith were issued criminal mischief summonses for kicking MJ’s car. On a local talk radio show today they both admitted their actions, which they said were in response to MJ spitting on them from the vehicle.

MJ was arrested on two counts of a violation of protective order issued for the benefit of Oliver and Smith. On the same radio show MJ denied spitting and said he was unaware of any protective orders.

Social media videos and posts about the encounter between the three men have been rampant since Tuesday afternoon and are expected to continue through Tuesday’s election.

All three were studio guests on a local talk radio show yesterday (Wed.)—with Oliver and Smith in one interview and then a separate interview with MJ.

If a reader is a fan of talk radio complete with mudslinging and hyperbole, then this was your treat.

All three of these men are African Americans and one wonders how many of the predominantly middle age/senior WASP radio listening audience turned the dial once the interviews were announced as upcoming, much less actually aired.

The interviews were the classic “he said, she said” and provided nothing of substance although did full 40 minutes of air time.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, most politicos seriously doubt that his dust up will impact the elections in District E and District F. However, all the press certainly is not helpful for Shreveport and the downtown area.
