SHREVEPORT'S POLICY ON PUBLIC PARKS NOT FOLLOWED WITH CRAWFEST 2023

Shreveport public parks were the venues for over 100 permitted events in 2022.

None of these charged an admission fee.

None of these tied up a city park for three days except CRAWFEST.

This year permits have been issued for 20 events at city parks.

With the exception of CRAWFEST, none of these were for three days.

With the exception of CRAWFEST, no admission fee was charged for the events.

The permit form to use a city park states NO Admission Fees Will be Charged.

This form was modified to allow an admission fee for CRAWFEST by a SPAR employee(s).

Mayor Arceneaux has stated a review will be made of the city's policies on the use of public parks.

The de facto policy followed last year, and this year should be amended to NOT allow an admission fee

and to NOT allow a public park to be tied up for more than two days.

Bottomline, CRAWFEST does not need to return to Betty Virginia Park period.

If a permit is pulled out in 2024 for this park, litigation can be expected.
