BOSSIER SCHOOLS HAS A WINNER! ZACH CRYER WINS REGIONAL STUDENT OF THE YEAR

Benton Middle School eighth grader Zach Cryer was surprised in class today by Bossier Schools Superintendent Mitch Downey with news he is the Regional Student of the Year winner.

Region I is comprised of 16 parishes, which Cryer will now represent as he moves on to the state competition.

Superintendent Downey said he is hopeful Cryer will have a repeat performance; he was the 2017 Louisiana Elementary Student of the Year.

Benton Middle School Principal Dr. Kyle Machen said the news comes as no surprise, because Cryer exemplifies excellence in everything he does.

Cryer is actively involved in Student Council, basketball and Bossier Parish 4-H. He hopes one day to become a cyber engineer.

Bossier Schools congratulates Zach Cryer and wishes him the best of luck at State.
