John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

RIVERBOATS DROP BACK IN JANUARY BUT REMAIN HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR

After earning over $50 million in November and December, the local six riverboat casinos dropped back in January to $46 million, similar to its October 2019 gains.

Boomtown, ElDorado, Horseshoe, DiamondJacks, Sam's Town and Margaritaville collectively brought in $46.3 million in January — 11.9%, or nearly $6.2 million, less than December 2019. However, the casinos also posted nearly 2.6% in gains from its January 2019 figures.
