John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

THE FEDERAL CARES ACT MAKES AVAILABLE TWO NEW FORMS OF AID FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) allows businesses to borrow up to 2.5 times monthly payroll expenses up (to a max of $10 million) and is forgivable in proportion to how much staff are kept on payroll.

Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Grants are a $10K “advance” available in just three days to businesses applying for relief loans. This benefit will only be issued to a million businesses, and Shreveport companies are encouraged to fill out the streamlined application at covid19relief.sba.gov.
