John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

HOUSE BILL 697 GOES TO FULL SENATE


The Senate Agriculture Committee today held a hearing on HB 697 this morning.

This is the bill introduced by Representative Danny McCormick to pull Caddo Parish out of the Shreveport Caddo Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC).

The House passed the legislation.

Alan Clarke , Executive Director of MPC, spoke in opposition to the enactment of the bill.

The committee voted to send the legislation to the full Senate. A vote by the Senate is expected by Friday of this week.

Gov. John Bel Edwards must sign off on McCormick’s bill if passed by the Senate.
