John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

CAWTHORNE TRIAL STILL A GO

The wheels of justice have been turning slowly when it comes to Lynn Cawthorne’s, white-collar crime case in Shreveport’s federal court for the Western District of Louisiana.

Caddo Commissioner Lynn Cawthorne was indicted in December 2019 on charges of aiding and assisting in making and subscribing false tax returns. Additional charges have been filed against Cawthorne, including 18 counts of money laundering-related charges.

Cawthorne’s trial has been continued many times. The last date of Sept. 20 was continued to this next week.

The trial will begin Nov. 8 in the Federal Building on Travis Street.
