John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

BREKA PEOPLES OUT OF LINE WITH BULLHORN AT CRIME PRESS CONFERENCE

The big press conference at Government Plaza on Wed. was well attended by many public officials.

These included Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins, Shreveport Police Chief Ben Raymond, Shreveport Fire Chief Scott Wolverton, Shreveport council members Tabatha Taylor and Jerry Bowman Jr., Caddo Commission president Lyndon Johnson and Caddo School Superintendent Lamar Goree among others.

The gathering was rudely interrupted by activist Breka Peoples shouting at Councilman Bowman with a bullhorn.

To say her comments were NOT constructive is an understatement.

Peoples has lead several Black Lives Matter events in Shreveport.

Breka's given name is believed to be Quanitta Dennis, a Mansfield native.

A public records review reflects several encounters by Dennis with law enforcement officials.

Although Peoples has constantly accused public officials of malfeasance, she and her followers have done little to nothing to mitigate black on black crime.

If Peoples was really concerned by black lives, she would be focussing on the sickening rash of shootings in Shreveport.

Of course if is much easier to be a "hell raiser" versus a problem solver.

Many like Peoples seek their three minutes of fame on TV/radio.

Unfortunately the local media too often accommodates malcontents which fuels further civil disruptions that serve no meaningful public purpose.
