John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

2020 CENSUS SHOWS GROWTH BOSSIER AND DESOTO, DECLINES IN CADDO AND WEBSTER PARISHES


The Baton Rouge Advocate reports that only 19 Louisiana parishes grew in population between 2010 and 2020. The other 45 parishes had declines in population.

The state had an overall growth of 2.7% in the last decade.

The 2020 census shows 10.1% growth in Bossier Parish and 0.6% growth in Desoto Parish.

Caddo Parish had a 6.7 % population decline and Webster had a 10.3%.

These results reflect the state's population on April 1, 2020. They do not reflect displacement caused by Hurricane Laura and other storms last summer.
