RESTRAINING ORDER ON DEMOLTION OF FAIR GROUNDS FIELD CONTINUED UNTIL DEC. 1

Tomorrow was to be the day the court was to hear a request to continue the restraining order on the demolition of Fair Grounds Field. (FGF).

Evidence adduced by the inspection of the facility by Linc Coleman and others along with depositions revealed that bat guano was still present at FGF, and that remediation was still needed.

The city has agreed to continue the restraining order until Dec. 1 when the hearing will now be held.

In the meantime, the city has announced the possibility of a major development on the site of FGF.

A press conference will be held Mon.

Obviously, the status of what will happen to FGF will dampen the enthusiasm of the new planned development.

More importantly, the delay will mean that the administration and this council will not have many options on any new development this year.

This means the new mayor, be that the incumbent or one of his challengers, along with the new council taking office in late Dec. should have the final say in the fate of FGF.
