John E. Settle, Jr.
It certainly is news to me.
The question should be asked to State Representative Alan Seabaugh.
The wantabe State Senator with the short man mentality blasted this author by name and unnamed "other disreputable local 'media' outlets"in a recent Facebook post.
Seabaugh stated that "the fact that Greg Tarver and I were sitting at the same table at a Republican political event ... have implied or outright claimed that I am supporting Greg Tarver for Shreveport mayor."
I did publish on Settletalk a column about the luncheon and the table seating of Seabaugh, his wife, State Senator Greg Tarver and State Senator Barrow Peacock shortly after the luncheon ended.
Mike Martindale is the new co-host of Erin McCarty on KEEL Radio's very popular morning talk show.
He and Erin were the speakers at the above referenced luncheon.
That afternoon Martindale posted on the KEEL Radio website a column titled "Is Senator Gregory Tarver Changing Political Parties?" The posting had two pictures of the table with Tarver and the others.
Evidently Seabaugh in his thin skinned whining has now thrown Erin, Mike and KEEL Radio under the bus with me.
Actually, they are good company.
Seemingly Seabaugh once thought so, because he recently on their radio show.
Seabaugh's most recent "contribution" to good government was his active role in the gerrymandering of the state senate districts.
He was a big player in designed a senate district to fit his political aspirations of next going to the state senate.
The net result was the loss to northwest Louisiana of Senate District 37 to the Northshore.
Seriously, do we really need someone like Seabaugh in elected office, much less the state senate?
I hope Seabaugh reads this column. I look forward to more of this trash talk about me.
As a member of the media, its really a compliment when elected officials get upset about factual reporting as well as op eds they do not like.
