WILL MAYOR PERKINS USE CITY PERSONNEL FOR NEXT PRESS CONFERENCE ON HISDISQUALIFICATION CASE?

On Tues. Mayor Perkins had a press conference at the Caddo Courthouse at 4 p.m.

He announced his intention to appeal the opinion rendered earlier that day by Caddo District Judge Brady O'Callaghan that disqualified him from the Nov. mayoral election.

The notice of the press conference was emailed by a city employee on city letterhead.

At the press confernce, Perkins was accompanied by an off duty Shreveport Police officer.

Attending at the press conference was another city employee.

The press conference dealt with the personal issue of Perkins, i.e. if he could seek re-election. It did NOT deal with city business.

At his hearing on that same day three city employees were in attendance. A public records request revealed that all three had taken PTO (personal time off) to attend the court hearing.

A public records request is pending concerning the two city employees dealing with the Tues. p.m. press conference.
