CADDO PARISH SUED BY AG OVER VIDEO DRAW POKER FEE

The Louisiana Attorney General Office (AG) represents the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.

The AG has filed litigation against several government entities including Lafourche Parish and now Caddo Parish.

The litigation concerns the ability of these government entities to collect fees for video draw poker devices.

Currently a Caddo Commission ordinance imposes an annual $50 fee on each video draw poker device.

The Commission's legal staff has suggested that a moratorium be imposed on any further
collections of these fees pending outcome of this litigation.

The Commission is expected to approve the moratorium at its regular meeting this Thurs. Sept. 22.
