HOW ARE THE "DONATIONS" TO PARTICIPATE IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PARADE SPENT?

The 35th Annual African American History Parade will be on Feb. 4 in downtown Shreveport.

In past years the city of Shreveport has assisted with the parade by providing traffic barriers, podium, Shreveport Police assistance, parade cleanup and other tasks necessary to stage the parade.

Celebration Committee has published a Participants Form for Parade.

This form has the following:

-$35 Donation for Marching Groups or other walking participants

-One car and one truck $175

-Two Cars $150

-Floats $155

"ALL FEES ARE DONATIONS"

Hmm...does that mean participants are NOT required to pay any money?

How are "fees" required "donations"?

How is the money collected, as fees, donations and sponsorships, spent?

Since the city of Shreveport is providing many services at no cost for this parade, the Celebration Committee should be required to disclose all moneys received and expended.
