If one has never heard Marvin "Mushmouth" Mohammed waste three minutes (or more) in making comments to the Shreveport City Council, then consider yourself blessed.
Mohammed, who reportedly has a criminal record from Texas, is a frequent flyer at council work sessions and/or meetings where he almost always makes comments.
Mohammed is obviously programmed by councilman James "Beard Butter " Green, Tabatha "Camera Hog" Taylor, and/or recently by Alan "Bowtie Boy" Jackson to deliver derogatory comments about the mayor, his administration and sometimes this writer.
Mohammed is known for mispronouncing words, mixing fantasy with reality, and ignorance of the legal principles he espouses.
Mohammed has even resorted to using the Bible to pull verses out of context to support his comments.
Presumably Muslims follow the Old Testament, or maybe some of it.
Facts are no object to Marvin when he delivers his mush to the council. But after all its his three minutes of fame before a public and streamed audience.
Tuesday Mohammed was programmed to beat up on interim chief administrative officer (CAO) Tom Dark and the two Republicans on the council. (Right before the meeting started, Taylor met Marvin at the speakers program to give him his final instructions.)
Marvin said Dark was the CAO when the city paid $200,000 to settle a contractual claim, and thus Dark was not qualified to be the CAO for Mayor Arceneaux.
He did not place any blame on the then mayor, which after the meeting he said was Keith Hightower, or the city council who had to approve the settlement.
He also incorrectly stated that during a prior administration that the then three Republican council members walked out on a meeting to confirm the appointment of Henry Whitehorn as then mayor Adrian Perkin's CAO. The walk out was when a speaker who was trashing then council members James Flurry, John Nickelson, and Grayson Boucher.
At a previous council meeting Marvin trashed Mayor Arceneaux. His comments that it was a violation of the city charter to have an interim CAO, finance director and city attorney evidenced his failure to either read and/understand the charter.
But again, why bother with facts when you are programmed to be the mouthpiece for council members who need a fool to deliver a fool's message?
If you have missed the mush mouth monologues, then tune in at the next council meetings on April 24 and April 25.
Since the CAO confirmation will be on the docket Mohammed will be able to spew his trash at both the Mon. work session and the Tues. regular meeting.
The only real question will be if his mutterings are also being made on behalf of council newcomers Ursula Bowman and/or Gary Brooks.
I have applied for a permit to sell popcorn and peanuts for the upcoming circus meetings.
