Many questions will be asked about all the local candidates who have qualified for the Oct. primary.

Here is a first round of questions about the races:

1. Should voters approve a husband-wife team for office--Stacey Melerine is a candidate for BESE District 4 and her husband Michael is a candidate for the State Representative District 6?

2. Should voters approve of a law office team of Alan Seabaugh for the Senate and Melerine for the House?

3. Does John Milkovich's record of service as a prior legislator merit his selection as State Senator 38th District?

4. What impact will the endorsement of current Senator Barry Milligan have on the election to replace him and his endorsement of Representative Thomas Pressley?

5. Will current Senator Greg Tarver endorse a candidate to replace him, and if so, what impact will that have on the election?

6. Will citizens vote for a woman stalker and a law enforcement impersonator --Steven Jackson is a candidate for State Representative District 2?

7. Will Caddo Sheriff candidates Eric Hatfield, Shayne Gibson, and Pat Gillery siphon off white votes that result in a Henry Whitehorn victory in the primary?

8. How active will Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator be in the campaign of John Nickelson for Sheriff, and what impact will his endorsement carry in the election?

9. Will Caddo Tax Assessor Charles Henigan endorse his employee running for Tax Assessor, and if so, what impact will the endorsement have?

10. Will Michael Williams formally withdraw from the Caddo Commission District 4 election since he is not qualified at this time due to his prior felony conviction?

11. Will Caddo DA James Stewart file litigation to disqualify Michael Williams if Williams does not withdraw from the Commission race?

12. Will incumbent State Senator Robert Mills be defeated by Adam Bass?

13. Will incumbent House member Dodie Horton be defeated for re-election?

14. Will former Caddo Commissioner David Cox defeat incumbent Ken Epperson for re-election to the Commission?

15. Will the numerous challengers to incumbent Bossier Police Jury members gain traction?

Its early, very early in these elections.

More columns will be published on many of these races.
