COUNCILMAN JACKSON FORCED TO RESIGN FROM GRAMBLING POST FOR FILING FALSE TIME RECORDS

Shreveport councilman Alan Jackson was given an ultimatum on Monday January 26: resign on the spot or be fired.

Jackson scrawled out a letter of resignation from his position of Director of Financial Aid at Grambling State University. Jackson's office was on the Grambling campus in Grambling.

Jackson had been caught falsifying his time sheets.

He failed to take PTO (personal time off) to attend at two council committee meetings that began at 1:30 pm in Shreveport.

Jackson also had failed to take PTO for travel time from Grambling to attend council work sessions and regular meetings that began at 3 pm. On those days he would only list two hours of PTO.

Jackson was often seen in Shreveport at press conferences and meetings during regular workday hours.

His time sheets did not reflect any PTO on those occasions.
